
Continuing beyond the arch, the valley turned into a draw and the trail began to climb. After a lot of walking and climbing, as I neared the top of the narrow Sterling Pass, I went through this cool grove of trees.
There was just enough room for me to walk upright under these trees that were all bent in the same direction. Shortly thereafter, I reached the pass, crossed over to Oak Creek Canyon, and descended along a steep trail to the highway.
